Classic Tiramisu by Frangipane

If you’re a dessert lover, then you should definitely try out the tiramisu by Frangipane Instagram page.

Authentic tiramisu is not the easiest dessert to get in Male’, but the one from Frangipane is delicious – and it really reminds you of why this Italian staple is so loved in the first place!

In addition to the classic, coffee-y, cocoa-y tiramisu, Frangipane also does limited edition flavours; earlier this year, they released a mouthwateringly good-looking pistachio-flavoured tiramisu and this August, they’ve come up with a ‘matchamisu’ for matcha lovers.

We went for the classic tiramisu, which is available via pre-orders on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

The tiramisu comes neatly layered with a generous dusting of cocoa on top. With the indulgent layers of mascarpone and ladyfingers peeking out from the sides, it looked ready to be dug into – and we did!

The first spoonful is what really seals the deal. The texture hits all the right notes – creamy mascarpone paired with espresso-soaked, slightly soft ladyfingers that hold their shape without going mushy.

Going a bit deeper into it, the mascarpone layer is incredibly smooth and light, with just the right amount of richness without being too heavy. The ladyfinger biscuits were perfectly soaked – neither soggy nor dry – infused with the lovely, subtle taste of coffee and a slight bite to them. Combined with the cocoa powder on top, it gives it that classic balance of sweet and bitter, which we just couldn’t get enough of.

Whether you’re a longtime tiramisu lover or just dipping your spoon into this dessert for the first time, Frangipane’s version is one of the best we’ve tried in Male’, and so worth treating yourself – or someone else – to!
